This will be an action packed Wednesday at LaGrange in Deep Ellum with THREE fantastic events:
6p: Fearless Film Festival whose goal is to enthuse, confuse, stir, and inspire its audiences through the exposure to underground and innovative short films that are rarely seen. **SEE DETAILS BELOW**
8p: Calais Winery Wine Tasting. Sample some of the wonderful selections from this great Deep Ellum business. (takes place during the 8p film screening).
8p: The Goonies. A group of kids embark on a wild adventure after finding a pirate treasure map! Starring Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, and Corey Feldman in this classic film. LaGrange provides this *complimentary* screening! There will be popcorn, movie snacks, cheese plates and 1/2 price wine.

LaGrange has got an action packed 2010 planned for their weekly film nights and each month is going to have a theme. Kicking things off for February, the theme is “Valentine’s Day”.
The first film on the calendar is “Sixteen Candles” starring Molly Ringwald, John Cusack, and Anthony Michael Hall in this John Hughes classic.
Molly stars as Samantha Baker who is having her 16th birthday…but nobody remembers!
Come join the fun as LaGrange provides this *complimentary* screening!

Angelika Film Center Celebrates Hitchcocktober With “Rear Window”

The Angelika Film Center is holding their annual Hitchcocktober with a FREE screening tonight of “Rear Window” starring Jimmy Stewart and Grace Kelley.
The film will screen on the pavilion at Mockingbird Station (rain or shine)!
Films start at 8:00pm. Some seating provided, but chairs, blankets and picnic baskets are encouraged! And remember, it’s easy to get to the Angelika because it is sitting adjacent to the DART Red & Blue lines at Mockingbird Station.

48 Hour Film Project Kicks Off Tonite In Dallas

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to wrangle some of your friends, get some camera gear and decide to embark on a 48-hour wild ride.
Beginning at 6:30p tonite, registered teams of the 48 Hour Film Project will send their fearless leader up to draw a genre out of the hat which could be comedy, drama, sci-fi, who knows?! Then, beginning at 6:52p, the elements wills start being announced which include a prop, a character, and a line of dialogue.
Then promptly at 7p, the teams hit the door running WITH their 2 cases of Rockstar Energy Drink to fuel their efforts and see who can write, shoot and edit the best film in 48 hours.
The finished projects will be shown on Thursday, 2 July 09 at Studio Movie Grill - Dallas. Tickets are $10 per screening and can be bought at the door.
AFI Film Camp Registration Open

DALLAS FILM SOCIETY, Producer of the AFI DALLAS International Film Festival and the Dallas Museum of Art have partnered this summer to bring High School and Middle School students an intensive look at specific professions in the film industry. Camps will take place at the Center for Creative Connections located inside the DMA.
