I don’t know about you, but I really like Genghis Grill. Grab yourself a stainless steel bowl and pile it high with a variety of ingredients to customize your dish. Genghis Grill’s standout is stir-fry.

Build your bowl by picking a protein base out of 14 options (chicken, steak, tofu, beef, scallops, pepperoni, and more), seasoning it, and selecting veggies (you have 30 choices). Then finesse your fare with choice of sauces; Genghis Grill has everything from chili garlic sauce to sweet and sour sauce.

You’ll finish it all up with a starch such as tortillas, udon noodles, or brown rice.

If decisions make you nervous, horrified, dismayed, or woefully glum, opt for a predetermined Genghis bowl, which lists its complete nutritional value. Personalized or prescribed, all bowls are $8.99.

The cooks will fire up your concoction as your mouth starts to water — all in all, a great dining experience.

Today only, this deal gets even sweeter because Genghis is providing you with $25 of food for a mere $10!

The details are:

* Voucher valid through 26 July 2010
* One voucher per table

LaGrange opens tonite in Deep Ellum

Wednesday

Elm Street in Deep Ellum is an absolute hot bed of activity. The latest kid on the block is LaGrange which officially opens tonite in the old Cafe Istanbul place and right across from the action packed Trees night club.

I got a sneak preview of the place last night and am really impressed with the vibe of the venue. It’s a quaint place with great seating which allows every seat in the house to have a stellar view of the stage. A long slab of mesquite makes up the bar, instead of the pre-requisite stuffed deer heads, La Grange has opted for illuminated glass-like ones (PETA friendly!), and the element I like the most are the massive glass doors which allow a perfect view to the interior for everyone walking and driving by.

Out back is a lovely little courtyard which will be ideal for socializing during more temperate climes.

For performing acts, La Grange has gone all out and provided a proper green room which is not always a given but definitely a welcome perk for the bands.

La Grange will kick things off tonite with performances by King Bucks and The O’s.

Tomorrow night for New Years Eve, it is FREE COVER and performances by Boys Named Sue and Manning Dickson.

Snowball Express rolls into Dallas in one week and bikers are still needed

Monday
Dec 7, 2009

Author: Raine Devries, Category: Dallas Cowboys, Downtown, Kids, Motorcycles

In just 48 hours the Snowball Express hits town and Dallas will welcome 1,400 kids and assorted guardians as they fly into DFW International Airport where 43 buses will pick them up and drive them to 10 downtown Dallas hotels.

The Patriot Guard Riders are leading the way in wrangling area bikers to help escort the buses — your help is still needed!

Registration is now open for these days / activities (you must REGISTER to be involved):

December 9: Escorting approximately 4 buses at a time from DFW International Airport to various downtown hotels. Register at: www.surveymonkey.com/s/MZJNF9B

December 10: KSU at all 10 hotels (approximately 9:30a) for Southfork Ranch. KSU (approx 3:45p) from Southfork to the Mesquite Rodeo (riders *may* be able to attend rodeo and have BBQ - awaiting confirmation). Register at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/M5FQC37

December 11:
KSU at all 10 hotels (approx 9:30a) for Dallas City Hall. Then escort kids on a “Walk of Gratitude” (foot parade) to Dallas Convention Center. Register at: www.surveymonkey.com/s/3MSRQX7

December 12: Approximate 10a KSU departure (details still being finalized). Once the Dallas Police Department finalize plans, all 43 buses will be escorted to Cowboys Stadium for a full day of activities including a concert by the Lt. Dan Band featuring Gary Sinese. The goal is to have 300-500 motorcycles ride into the stadium to ring the field (you MUST have a kick stand pad which will be checked to ensure it won’t damage Jerry’s field). It appears that we will be allowed to bring our own food/beverages. After the concert, the bikes will fire up and depart the field. Approximately 300 attendees will then be escorted to AAC for the Mavericks game and the rest will be returned to their hotels. Register at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/3N6LY9C

December 13: Escorting buses at various times (TBD) from the hotels back to DFW. Register at: TBD
