Another Victoria’s Secret Panty Raid
Thursday
Mar 19, 2009
In yet another dastardly caper, another Victoria’s Secret has been snatched of panties!
The usual target is the store at Mockingbird Station; however, this time it was a store near Hurst.
The thieves took 100 panties valued at $14 each and 125 valued at $16 each - and we’ll save you the time of having to get out your calculator - for a grand total of $3,400 NOT including sales tax.
Evidently, “most” of the store employees were in the back and the thieves snatched the panties from the drawers near the front of the store and tossed them into white bags — not even the stylish pink striped VS bags.

Major Pot Bust Outside Of The W Hotel
Sunday
Feb 15, 2009
In a beautiful example of how everything old is new again — there was a major bust today outside the luxury W Hotel.
Seems a Russian by the name of Dimitriy Goncharuk got himself 2 college girls to drive a Winnebago from the West Coast to Dallas. The Winnebago was filled with 200 pounds of hydro pot with a street value of $1 million worth.
The girls were to be paid $15,000 each to drive the Winnebago here.
Dimitriy is chilling out on a $2 million dollar bail at the Denton County Jail (yes, the bust took place in Dallas but Denton is who got the tip and was working the case). The girls got out on $50k bail (don’t you know their parents were thrilled to pony up that money!)
No word on where the hydro pot is being stored but if they decide to burn it like usual, I think a lot of people are going to want to be downwind from that!
The police say that having college kids / girls drive vehicles like Winnebago’s is the “latest ploy” to get things past the cops. Call me strange, but didn’t George Jung, Johnny Depp’s character in Blow, pull that same stunt in the early 1970’s?
Start watching at the 7:30 mark and you’ll see my point:
If You Owe Dallas County $$, Don’t Plan On Getting Your Registration Renewed
Tuesday
Feb 10, 2009
After many efforts at sending out threatening letters and warrant round-up’s, Dallas County has decided that it’ll be easier to just make it impossible to renew your registration.
So beginning tomorrow, 11 February 09, the Scofflaw Registration Block Program goes into effect. This effort is to try to collect the more than $200 million owed by drivers with unpaid traffic tickets.
Vehicle registration may not be the only thing at stake if you have outstanding fines; if you owe Dallas County money you won’t be able to renew your driver’s license either.

Another Panty Raid @ Mockingbird Station Victoria’s Secret
Thursday
Feb 5, 2009
Yet again in another dastardly robbery, “professional thieves” made off with thou$ands of dollars worth of panties from the Victoria’s Secret location at Mockingbird Station.
Like the previous robbery, the store was targeted during normal business hours, the thieves pulled up a cargo van and even though the panties had security tags on them the thieves managed to walk past the security detectors and away they went.

Dallas Considers Daytime Student Curfew
Monday
Feb 2, 2009
The members of the Dallas City Council that make up the Public Safety Committee are going to consider expanding the nighttime juvenile curfew to daytime hours. Committee members in favor of a daytime curfew say if you cut truancy you can cut crime as evidenced by research showing the majority of home burglaries blamed on juveniles in 2008 occurred during school hours.
The proposed daytime curfew would be in effect Monday-Friday from 9a - 2:30p.
Many parents say they like the idea and the Dallas Independent School District says besides cutting crime the curfew would mean more money for the district as absent kids mean less money from the state.
Some cities in the area have already implemented the plan. Hurst, Euless and Bedford went to similar curfews last year. The HEB Schools report after implementing a daytime curfew unexcused absences dropped by nearly 10,000 for the year.
Schools get money, the city would face less crime, but there is concern with enforcement. Parents could be fined up to 500 dollars if their child skips school.
These and other issues will be discussed by the commission in their meeting Monday. The city says it will hold a public hearing on March 25. A second hearing and final vote would be scheduled for April 22.

Michael Irvin Suspects Noteriety Saved Him From Crime
Wednesday
Jan 14, 2009
A passing motorist pointed a handgun at former Dallas Cowboy Michael Irvin as he drove in Far North Dallas on Monday night, according to a police report.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame member was not injured. He told police he stopped at a red light in the 18200 block of Marsh Lane, near the Bush Turnpike, about 9:30 p.m., when the driver of the vehicle next to him rolled down his window, the police report said.
Irvin put down his window because he thought someone wanted to talk to him and saw the passenger in the other vehicle raise a gun, the report said. Irvin said in an interview Tuesday night that he feared the men had planned to rob him and changed their minds when they saw who he was.
“The passenger pulled out a semiautomatic and I knew what time it was,” Irvin said. “But he said ‘Oh, that’s Michael Irvin, with the Dallas Cowboys.’”
Despite being scared, Irvin said he tried to keep the conversation going.
“So we started talking about the Cowboys and everything,” he said. “Then they got back on the highway.”
“I tell you what, I’m glad he was a Cowboy fan,” Irvin said.
A detailed description of the men was not available.
