Sully Lands Speaking Gig

Good luck with everything you do in life, Denison High School graduating class of 2009. Maybe, if you’re lucky, you’ll grow up to one day land a commercial airliner in the Hudson River and save the lives of everyone on board.
That’s right, we’ve learned Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger — the most badass alumni in the history of the Texas school — is delivering the commencement speech at this year’s DHS graduation.
The ceremony, scheduled for June 6, was originally going to feature a giant tribute to Sully — featuring a billboard of the hero pilot in the middle of town — but Sully got wind of the grand scheme and humbly shot it down.
We’re told Sully’s peeps told the school he couldn’t “imagine his face on a billboard.”
Sully fun fact — back in the day, he played the flute in the school band … and you better believe he kicked ass.

The flight landing in the Hudson 1549 was appreciated much. Looking forward to the book. It was so nice to know and understand the prodigious events regarding this flight. It was so unusual.
As a former flight attendant (American Airlines), it was all too clear to understand flight safety. (Actually, my grandfather was an airline mechanic.) Back then, the 707 was used a lot but I always liked the 727 and 737 or 747 (cannot remember). My happiest moments flying was each and every time we touched down and parked delivering the passengers safely. In those times you could keep the ear phones on and listen to the pilot commands when taking off and landing. I did continue flying via my spouse’s mileage from his traveling so much. On the 727’s I could service the front with two more attendants in the back. The DC flights were always scary to me as we seemed to have to take off and land so quickly.
Also, now more interested in the Air France flight ramifications on internet.
