Texas first lady Anita Perry has announced the launch of a fund to help rebuild the Governor’s Mansion after last month’s devastating fire.

The wife of Gov. Rick Perry said Tuesday that donations to the nonprofit Texas Governor’s Mansion Restoration Fund will be tax-deductible.

Anita Perry says the cost of the renovation isn’t known as officials continue to assess damage from the June 8 fire. The 152-year-old landmark was left with collapsed ceilings, a charred staircase and scorched walls covered with black soot.
