Former Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk May Be Part Of Obama Cabinet

Ron Kirk is a very lucky man. I mean that…literally. Yes, he’s been Mayor of Dallas and is up for a possible cabinet position with Obama, but he’s not real observant when walking.

I know well of what I speak.

I used to live in a corner house in the M streets area and had a habit of backing my car into the garage so that I was always facing forwards upon departing. I drove a teal Corvette at that time. Teal. Corvette. Kind of hard to miss. But yet, Kirk did repeatedly.

It didn’t matter what time of day I was departing, I would pull out into the driveway, all clear to the left, big hedge row to my right going down almost to the curb though. I would go to pull out and like a bloody Jack-in-the-Box, here would come Kirk popping past that row of hedges and looking at me like I’m a speed demon. Of course, to be fair, I’d be looking at him and thinking, “Wear something day-glo so I might have a shot at seeing you through the bushes!”

So, thanks to my continuous fast reflexes and good Corvette brakes, Kirk can possibly add yet another political tick mark to his record.

60 million passengers per year visit Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and there’s no better place for a family layover(DFW) according to a recent survey that placed DFW 7th on the list.

With two 600-square-foot play areas that feature padded airplanes, taxis, and luggage for climbing, plus a TV showing kids’ cartoons, it’s great for family layovers.

DFW also scores high for its green fleet. Of the airport’s 580 vehicles, from buses to lawn mowers, 540 are hybrids or run on compressed natural gas.

And thanks to restaurants like Tequilerias, which serves nutritious options such as jicama and mango salads, the airport stands tall in PCRM’s food rankings.

The fiery car crash that killed Dallas girl Kandice Hutchison from “A Double Shot at Love” allegedly was caused by street racing — and Kandice was one of two cars involved in the deadly race.

According to an official accident report, Kandice’s Nissan 350Z sport coupe and a Mazda 6 were racing down the Airport Freeway in Euless when they sped past a Mustang.

The two cars passed the Mustang on either side — Kandice on the right and the Mazda on the left — but once they passed it, Kandice lost control, veered into the Mazda and then crashed into a concrete median.

Kandice, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from her car and pronounced dead at the scene.

The DA is now considering filing street racing charges.
