Two days ago an online petition was started so that inroads could start being made to get the Dallas City Council to implement “Motorcycle Only” parking in Dallas.

More than 300 signatures have been secured in less than 2 days.

The Dallas Observer has already picked up the story and other media outlets are expressing an interest as well.

With gasoline escalating in price almost daily, we are seeing more bikes on the road commuting and running errands. Additionally, by implementing “motorcycle only” parking, it makes the cagers more aware of us — and it might get some of them out of their SUV’s and on to 2 wheels with the rest of us!

Riders need to band together to make the Dallas City Council aware that whether we are blue collar, white collar, executives or students that we are out there and it’s high time we stopped being treated like “biker trash” and that we if compact cars and SUV’s can have special designated parking, than so can the bikes & scooters!

With the airlines - including Dallas based American - scaling back on their services, it’s disturbing to see that a skit from the Carol Burnett show so many years ago could be so poignant today.

Many of the amazing alums of the Booker T. Washington High School for Performing and Visual Arts are returning to campus for the gala opening of the school’s new $55 million facility.

Grammy-winning alums Erykah Badu, Norah Jones and Shawn Martin all will perform at the June 7 gala at the arts magnet school. Fellow alum Elizabeth Mitchell (she plays Juliet Burke on TV’s Lost) will emcee the evening. The word is that trumpeter Roy Hargrove and jazz pianist Frank LoCrasto will also appear.

George Michael begins his US tour on June 17 - but if you are a die hard fan with notions that you can meet him at the swank hotel in your city, pack up that idea. Michael will be jetting back to Dallas after each show so that he can sleep in his own bed.

The amazing Yaz - Alison Moyet and Vince Clark - are touring for the first time in years. Upstairs at Eric’s was one of the quintessential 80’s albums and this show should be a treat for all of us!

The Dallas stop will be on Tuesday, 22 July 08 at 8:30p at the Lakewood Theater.

Tix to general public go on sale this Friday morning at 10a.

According to the rumor mills, this is the latest the Tony Romo-Jess Simpson world turns: They’re seeing each other again, but only if Papa Joe Simpson stays totally on the sidelines.

A college pal of Tony’s tells the Chicago Sun-Times that the Cowboy “made it super-clear that if they were to give another go, her dad had to seriously back off.” This go-round is “a trial thing” and will only work if Joe leaves the couple alone and doesn’t try to QB the QB.

The pair have been very publicly out and about in Dallas the past few days.

Jessica Simpson & Tony Romo are now officially back on. They were spotted around Dallas over the weekend dining and hanging out at everywhere form N9NE to Sneaky Pete’s.
