What would J.R. Ewing think?

After years of drama, crime, hijinks, sordid sexual escapades, infidelity, and business deals gone bad, it seems that the long awaited “Dallas” movie is evolving into a comedy.

According to “Variety” (the Bible for the show business world), Regency & Twentieth Century Fox are chatting with the director of “The Brady Bunch”, Betty Thomas. Already on board is Pam Brady (no relation to the Bunch) for the script.

According to the Dallas Film Commission, the city of Dallas is still a contender for the filming to take place well (as damn well it should be especially with Texas new incentive program!)

After Dolph Lundgren’s recent foray into to town to tape with Joe & Jason Martin of Martin Bros Bikes and now Prison Break back in production, it would be interesting to have a comedy to lighten things up.

Can Dallas hope for a double championships from ABC’s Dancing with the Stars?

Emmitt Smith won the judges and audiences with his performance during Season 3 of the hit show.

Now E! Online and Sports Illustrated are reporting that Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is slotted to perform on Season 5.

Personally, he’s GOT to be better than those ridiculous pizza commercials featuring Cowboy’s owner Jerry Jones dancing (has anyone ever gotten past that face lift of his?!)

Congratulations to Colt Knost who won the 107th U.S. Amateur Championship this weekend.

This is the second major win for Knost in as many months as he just celebrated victory at the U.S. Public Links as well.

Knost played at Southern Methodist University and is only the second golfer to win both championships in the same year.

Sorry girls, but on Saturday, long time bachelor Mike Modano - who also moonlights as a great player for the Stanley Cup winning Dallas Stars - got married to Playboy playmate/actress Willa Ford who stars as Anna Nicole Smith in an upcoming biopic on the star.

The wedding was held at the 3,000 acre East Texas ranch “Barefoot Ranch”. Only a handful of family and friends were on hand and the wedding was noted for it’s lack of celebrity icing.

The guests were booked into a local Holiday Inn Express and a luxury coach took them to the venue where they enjoyed dinner and dancing under the stars after the nuptuials.

We wish Modano and his bride the best of luck and many happy years.

In Forbes Magazine seventh annual Best City for Singles listing, Dallas/FW ranked 9th in the city.

Largely due to the cost of single living, culture, nightlife, job growth and online dating, all these factors made Dallas appeal most attractive to the powers that be at the magazine.

Where Dallas ranked at the top of the list is “Cost of living Alone” which translates into you can get a great location without having to share it with 2 other people. The concept of “Friends” really only works for 30 minutes in reruns - for those in the real world, it’s nice to have your own place.

Also new this year as part of the rankings is the Most Eligible Bachelor and Bachelorette.

For Dallas, we are represented by the following:

Bachelorette: Annie Clark - who performs under the stage name of St. Vincent - is 24 and a singer/songwriter. Her recent album “Marry Me” she is currently touring to support the debut album. If your style if Tori Amos, you’ll probably really like her.

Bachelor: Tony Romo is the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys and 27 years old. He recently judged the Miss Universe pageant and co-hosts Inside the Huddle on radio.
