New Year’s Eve is just 4 short days away so if you are wondering what to do, here are some suggestions:

  • New Year’s Parade will be held on Monday, 31 December, beginning at 2p. With dozens of floats, performaers and bands, there is sure to be something to appeal to everyone. The parade will begin at Elm and Ervay and then progress down Ervay to Main Street. At Lamar Street, the parade takes another right. The parade route follows Lamar to Houston Street and into Victory Park where it will then end at American Airlines Center. Parking is readily available and DART is always a good option as well.

In today’s game, the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Carolina Panthers in an away game.

Terrell Owens left the game early due to an ankle injury and Tony Romo was back on his game without his thumb injury that wrecked such havoc in last weeks’ game.

The Panthers have been eliminated from the playoff contention.

If nothing else, you gotta give points to the guy that launched the site, www.RuinRomo.com.

Essentially, you can download a large photo of Jessica Simpson, print, paste it to cardboard, cut out the eyes, mount on a stick and holding it before your face if you are one the teams yet to play Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys.

Poor Jessica…she looked cute in her pink jersey but the backlash is nothing short of incredible!

    Flying During This Christmas Weekend

If you are flying this weekend, leave really early to deal with the security lines.

I had a 6:20a departure yesterday on American Airlines and I was at the airport at 4:30a and my security line took 25 minutes….but just while I was standing there the line doubled in length. Then the flight coming in from Seattle was delayed so we took off 50 minutes late. The poor gate agent was an older lady and I think her hair must have looked nice when she piled it up on her head but at 6a it was in that Bill the Cat fashion! Someone asked her if it was going to be a busy day and her reply was, “It’s going to be hell!“. There’s a saying I like, “You get what you think about whether you want it or not” so I hope that lady changed her thinking.

Upon landing in Orlando it was sheer madness. It was standing room only in the entire terminal and so much noise but it seemed like one of the gate agents was bellowing “ONE CARRY ON ONLY — ONE BAG ONLY“. If that was indeed the case, that doesn’t bare well for my return because I only take two carry on’s with me.

Then as I made my way past the check in to security for those departing Orlando, I was stunned to see the line. I was thinking about how things would be on the 26th for my departure in the early afternoon. Needless to say, I’m guessing I need to budget 3 hours just to get in if I need to check a bag and go through security.

So in closing, definitely plan on getting to the airport earlier than you might have initially planned, be patient, bring some reading material or fully charged iPod, and bring a happy, understanding attitude as everyone is very taxed at this time.
